Energy Utility Company (undisclosed client)
One of Germany’s largest energy providers approached us to develop a scalable strategy for sustainable urban neighborhoods, with an emphasis on the operational area of Hanover.
Context
The entire energy-utility industry is being challenged to revisit its practices and reroute its strategy. The energy transition is no longer a looming potential but an overarching megatrend requiring new approaches, flexibility, and creativity from usually traditional industries.
Our Role
We assisted our client in this journey: from analyzing their current product and service portfolio and its market to forecasting of macro shifts impacting their day-to-day business within 5 years. We helped them understand how to build a more flexible and resilient product portfolio and invited some of the best experts in the European energy industry to challenge/validate assumptions.
Results
With our support, the company was better equipped to navigate challenging strategic decisions. They discovered new potential business avenues and pre-empted unnecessary threats. One key result of this process was a more clear way to interact with the startup world, which helped our client scout for innovation and stay curious about new disruptive technologies.
